One of the most exciting start-ups in London is looking for a Product Design Manager to join their team. They are focusing work between artificial intelligence and real estate, dealing with 3D information.

Role Context

  • They’re looking for a Product Design Manager with a clear enthusiasm for design that has experience leading a team of designers
  • You will be responsible for realising company’s vision from research to production
  • The successful candidate will be passionate about making and maintaining user-centred, beautiful interfaces that people love to use
  • You should be a natural problem solver and comfortable in an agile environment
  • You will be placing users’ needs and behaviours at the forefront of their work, ensuring that the experience they have when using our products is optimised, efficient, coherent and delights

Key Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for advocating for the importance of UX + UX research, lean and agile methodologies throughout the design team and whenever interacting with those outside the design team
  • Work with product and engineering to define and improve the product design process.
  • Be the ultimate owner of this process
  • Produce high quality sketches, wireframes, and mock-ups at various degrees of fidelity, as necessary throughout a lean design process
  • Define creative, usable, high-quality interactions and experiences
  • Own and help to define the user testing and user research process
  • Help to define the design process for non-product design
  • Be responsible for identifying and managing staffing, process or other human resource challenges in the team
  • Work with product managers and teams to improve the end to end product delivery process, including interactions with engineering, QA, product and wider business
  • Mentor and manage product and visual designers
  • Engage with senior stake holders

Work in conjunction with People Manager to implement company’s people vision

  • Solve complex data flows and simplify process and user journeys to deliver impactful experiences for the end users
  • Build high fidelity designs using existing design libraries
  • Implement and contribute to internal design libraries
  • Help find a middle ground between ideal design and realistic development timeframes
  • Create/maintain product design libraries to allow product and engineering teams to be most effective in building user experiences
  • Ensure compliance with company policies & procedures, and support company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity
  • Work closely with engineers throughout the implementation stage to ensure a high level of quality in the final compositions

Key Attributes

  • Deep knowledge and experience of UX and UI design
  • Strong experience of user research, user testing, and an interest in product discovery
  • Management and leadership experience
  • Preferably experience working in product design at a SAAS company
  • Strong web design and preferably also brand design credentials would be advantageous
  • A passion for learning about users and designing solutions which solve their needs
  • They use Figma, Sketch, Invision, Adobe Suite, so knowledge of some or all of those is good, but deep experience of alternatives is required
  • Preferably, some experience of designing design processes in small - medium-sized companies and ensuring consistency across multiple teams Skills
  • You are a creative person with a real passion for making world-class digital products and experiences
  • You have the ability to understand customers, run user testing, create journeys, and host workshops if required
  • You can communicate ideas and concepts effectively, with technical and non-technical team members
  • You can present strategic rationale for design decisions to team members and across the board
  • You can collaborate with front-end, backs-end and other designer as well as business stakeholders − You have the ability to integrate qualitative and quantitative data into design work
  • You have the knowledge of technical constraints, optimisation and implementation
  • You have strong communication, team, and organizational skills
  • You are truly dedicated to challenging yourself and developing your skills to the next level


  • Experience with prototyping (In Vision, Marvel, Principle, Figma)
  • Experience working in a fast pace environment start-up
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
