Our client is a start-up created in 2015 and engaged in sustainable development and climate change. Sweetch Energy develops a technology enabling the production of clean renewable electricity from a salinity gradient. (Osmotic Blue Energy).
Thanks to their recent discoveries in nanotechnologies and advanced materials for osmotic blue energy, the company is accelerating pace towards industrial setup of the technology.
Supported by leading deep tech and energy tech investors sharing their visions, they are expanding very fast and are currently looking at hiring their new: Process & Development Engineer - Cleantech (F/M). Based in: Rennes, Brittany (France).
At first, directly reporting to the Director of the Research and then to the Director of Development, you will be involved in but not limited to:
- Develop, configure and optimize industrial processes from inception through to start up and certification.
- Assess processes, take measurements and interpret data.
- Design, calculate, test and upgrade systems and processes.
- Develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions.
- Perform process simulations.
- Manage cost and time constraints.
- Perform risk assessments.
- Provide process documentation and operating instructions.
- You hold a Master degree in engineering and/or a PhD in Chemistry or in electrochemistry and you have a minimum of 4 years of experience in Process Engineering gained in an engineering firm or in an international corporation with a focus on flow and hydrodynamic issues.
- You have experience in process simulations, working knowledge of process engineering software packages, including CAD or AutoCad skills.
- You have acquired a strong knowledge in at least one of the following fields of Capacitive Deionization (CDI), electrochemistry, electric conversion, electrodialysis, electric systems under the water, membrane etc.
- You are passionate about renewable energy and particularly about blue energy, with a willingness to build a cleaner future and combat climate change.
- You are independent and visionary.

- You are hands-on, creative and ambitious.
- Finally, you are fluent in English and your level of French is conversational.
