Photonics Process Researcher

Our innovative new start-up developing ultra-high bandwidth, low latency optical interconnects for generative AI, cellular, and high bandwidth data transfer applications is now searching for a Photonics Process Researcher to join the development team in Italy.

The role will involve developing photonic fabrication process modules for integration of 2D materials into silicon photonics process flows.

Working to get the development from R&D through to production and scale-up will be a crucial part of the role, as well as ensuring clean room processes and equipment are working at a specified quality level.

Required skills for the Photonics Process Researcher will include:

• Strong photonics process experience and knowledge
• Strong expertise in polymeric materials and integration of 2D materials
• Hands-on experience with characterization techniques such as Raman spectroscopy, SEM, TEM, AFM, and XPS
• Strong communication skills and drive
• Familiarity with cleanroom environments and nanofabrication techniques
• Masters / PhD Degree qualified
