Families can access running water in their homes, saving them time and money, and improving their health, while paying for the water service in a simple and convenient way from their phone, at any time, and for any amount.
We are currently scaling in West Africa (Niger, Burkina Faso, Mali, Sénégal), East Africa (Kenya), in Latin America ( Brasil, Ecuador) and in Asia (Singapore).
Our offices are located in Paris (Porte d’Orléans).
The Job
CityTaps is looking for a passionate Project Engineer who demonstrates initiative, takes ownership for project work, and exhibits a high level of team leadership, commitment, and willingness to innovate.
Under the responsibility of the Director of Product Management, you will:
⦁ Lead CityTaps’ and its partners’ cross-functional business and engineering teams through smart water metering device projects from inception to completion
⦁ Participate in the design of CityTaps’ improved Product Development Process to develop new digital/IoT devices that meet business requirements of cost, quality, timing, customer expectations and applicable standards.
⦁ Motivate and train teams to adopt this new Process.
⦁ Oversee CityTaps’ new hardware product development projects and manage the day-to-day relationship with our design and manufacturing partner located in Ankara, Turkey.
⦁ Ensure projects launch on time and meet or exceed the established deliverables (features, quality, cost).
⦁ Monitor timing, quality, technical, and financial risk on assigned projects so that correct risk mitigation strategy is developed and executed. Escalate to obtain management support when necessary.
⦁ Remain flexible to changing responsibilities and projects prioritization adjustments. In particular, you will likely be required to continue to manage the relationship with our Turkish partner after the products’ launch and oversee the products’ manufacturing quality.
Your Profile:
⦁ Mechanical or generalist Engineering Degree
⦁ 5 years experience successfully leading hardware projects as well as significant experience in new product development
⦁ Bilingual or proficient in English and Turkish (MANDATORY)
⦁ Demonstrated success managing projects involving multiple engineering disciplines concurrently in a fast paced environment
⦁ Ability to effectively work with teams and suppliers from different cultures and countries. Experience working with French or European companies or customers
⦁ Demonstrated electronic and mechanical aptitude
⦁ Working knowledge of IoT devices preferred
⦁ Ability to apply agile methodologies to hardware product development preferred
⦁ We will consider remote candidates able to travel regularly back and forth between Turkey and France (as soon as the borders reopen)
