.Net Full Stack Engineer (remote EU/UK)
£90k plus equity
C# .NET 5, AWS, Microservices, Greenfield
Your boiler dies in the middle of winter and you need the next available engineer to get your property as soon as possible. Someone who is local, reliable, affordable, and competent. How do you find them quickly?
You are a gas engineer with a small business, you with a van some tools and your qualifications, and a handful of very happy customers. How do you find the people who need your services, book them in quickly and get your invoices paid with the minimum amount of admin?
As with so many things in life, technology provides the solutions, or it will if the business we are recruiting for has its way. They are looking to build all the services that will connect the two parties above. The good news is they are funded by one of the UK's most successful energy companies so they already know a lot of people who own boilers and the people with the skills to repair and replace them.  Andy, the CTO of the new venture, is looking to add to the 15 engineers (software not boilers) and he has been working on this already.
.Net is likely your main skill but you also have had a little dabble in the front end before and are aware of things like React native. The team works remotely  - yes actually, properly, remotely you can apply for this role from the UK or the EU. They do have an office in London and would like to see you face to face from time to time but this time will be measured in months not weeks.
Here are some of the things they are working on,

- build a matching algorithm to match tradespeople to work based on skills, location, price, and ratings

- work on a React Native front end

- build a payments system

- plan for scale starting with the customers of a single energy company but plan to add anyone with a boiler in the UK.

- Lots of new feature development - why stop at gas engineers? What about electricians, carpenters and even painters once you have proved the model.

So now you know the bare bones but we all know that the manager and the culture are so much of any role. Speaking as a recruiter who has worked with Andy the CTO many times over the years, I can confirm he runs his teams fairly, invests in the people who work for him, promotes from within, and allows plenty of autonomy. He is genuinely a good guy and I once personally witnessed him buying a round of drinks for his whole team using his own money. True story.

What about the salary? Up to £90 000 (yes it is dependent on experience but for experience read skill level rather than years served).

Sounds like it might be something you would enjoy? Please do get in touch. No need for a CV to get a conversation started just convert your LinkedIn to a PDF and send it over and I will get in touch to arrange a call (or let you know why I didn't).
