About the role

It's an exciting time to join the Motor Engineering department here at AXA. As an In-house Engineer, you'll be responsible for providing technical expertise to our Motor Claims Department, Brokers and Customers while successfully managing and controlling damage spend on Motor Insurance Claims.

You'll be instrumental to the team by undertaking remote vehicle inspections using the most appropriate methods such as written reports, data, and digital imaging, to ensure the accurate valuing of the motor vehicle claims.

You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, or at one of our office locations.

What you'll be doing ?

  • Reviewing and negotiating settlement of all motor vehicles, liaising directly with our customers.
  • You'll be working to agreed timescales and business parameters, depending on the business needs.
  • Audit and evaluate performance of repairer, making recommendations regarding repair quality, repair costs and customer service.
  • Building and maintaining professional working relationships with a range of suppliers.
  • Supporting all aspects of the business to assist in the claims process for both insured and third party in order expedite settlement and minimize cost.
  • Ensuring all work is carried out within agreed KPI's and SLA's and in accordance with our company values.

About you

What we’re looking for ?

  • Proven experience in assessing damage to all types of motor vehicles, preferably in relation to Motor Vehicle Insurance claims.
  • Knowledge of Farm, Agricultural equipment and Commercial vehicles would be a bonus.
  • Experience in damage estimating, repair cost negotiation and vehicle valuations.
  • Having an Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA) for Vehicle Damage Assessment is an essential requirement.
  • Incorporated membership of the Institute of Automotive Engineer Assessors (IAEA), would be desirable but not essential.
  • Expert user of the Audatex damage assessment system and CAP valuation software.
  • Developed communication and organizational skills.
  • You’ll be a team player with a positive can-do attitude.

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
