indie Semiconductor is a fabless semiconductor company specializing in the design of innovative mixed-signal System-on-Chip (SoC) solutions for automotive applications.

We are seeking a skilled and self-driven software (SW) manager to join our indie radar team. This position is a senior leadership role responsible for leading embedded software development in the automotive radar space.

The job position is the unique opportunity to build a new embedded software team that generates the core SW for indie’s new radar product line.

The team will work closely with the systems team, the IC development team and the apps team to deliver world class automotive SW products.

The ISO26262 compliant SW products will be marketed together with Indie’s advanced hardware.

The position directly reports to the responsible VPs. The team scope covers the entire range from embedded AUTOSAR/OS, secure boot and monitoring to embedded radar software development for Indie’s high performance processing architecture.

A key strategy is the co-implementation of software and test functions (routine level and unit tests). Your team will closely work together with the DevOPs team to cover the complete validation and verification requirements of the ISO26262. Projects under your supervision will be managed by individual project managers with the Jama, Jira, Confluence tool suites.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the SW team for automotive radar product implementation
  • Grow the team to 15+ people.
  • Specify new SW products in close cooperation with apps, system and IC design teams.
  • Lead the different SW development sub-groups for AUTOSAR/OS, secure boot and drivers, and embedded radar processing software.
  • Together with Dev Ops and FuSa team, design and implement the ISO 26262 compliant SW development process including tool selection and acquisition.
  • Create, maintain, and execute software development plans in cooperation with the dedicated program managers; continuously improve planning by monitoring and benchmarking execution speed and resources used.
  • Report the status of software development projects to international project teams and leaders as well as lead customers.
  • Manage and resolve project issues and risks.
  • Direct the company-wide reference AUTOSAR implementation (OS selection, AUTOSAR interface and packages).
  • Benchmarking strategy for the SW execution speed and resource requirements.

  • BSc or equivalent and 3+ years of experience in managing automotive product development at tier 1, tier 2 or OEM level.
  • University degree or equivalent education in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or in a program/project management related discipline.
  • Experience with modern software development and relevant tools for requirement management and continuous integration for automated validation from tools and automotive process perspective.
  • Excellent communicator to both external customers and internal stakeholders like senior management and project teams.
  • Knowledgeable in automotive functional safety standards e.g. ISO26262, and ASPICE techniques and MISRA compliant development.
  • Basic understanding of radar system development and signal processing is a plus, but not required.
  • AUTOSAR experience is beneficial.
  • Basic knowledge of automotive interfaces like CAN protocols and automotive Ethernet.
  • Fluent English written and verbal communication skills; knowledge of German is a plus
  • Moderate travel is required.
