THE BIG OPPORTUNITY: BE PART OF A PROJECT AT THE CUTTING EDGE OF CHANGE IN THE LEGALTECH SPACE
Legatics is a highly acclaimed startup at the heart of the UK’s booming LegalTech scene. We are on a mission to transform the $600bn market for legal services worldwide and to work with law firms to bring the way they manage major global deals into the 21st Century. The Legatics platform is an end-to-end legal deal platform focused on efficiency and client experience, transforming traditional paper and email based legal processes into simple and highly automated software that frees lawyers from administrative tasks and improves efficiency and profitability for law firms.

Legatics’ software is used by multi-billion-dollar global clients on award winning transactions that make the front pages of the global business press, but we’re setting our sights on our next challenge. As part of a project co-sponsored by the UK’s innovation agency, Innovate UK, we are seeking a machine learning developer to be at the forefront of our innovative architecture for integrating machine learning technologies into legal workflows. You would be working side-by-side with a team of behaviour change and product experts with deep domain knowledge of the legal industry to develop a number of ‘AI Microservices’ to turbo-charge the Legatics Platform and take our product to the next level.

INTERESTEDFIND OUT WHAT WE’RE LOOKING  FOR!
We’re looking for a confident and proactive machine learning developer who has experience of rapidly taking machine learning tools from ideation into production. Experience with popular machine-learning environments (e.g. Python, R, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Keras), version-control (Git) and deployment tools (Linux server, Docker, Amazon Web Services) would be highly valuable. The projects you will be working on will require knowledge of frameworks and approaches for both natural language processing and computer vision.

You will have the ability to take your own approach to developing each microservice, and should be able to work autonomously and at pace to deliver high quality solutions to each use case which can be deployed into the Legatics platform. The requirements of each microservice will require a variety of approaches and methods, meaning that every day will present new challenges and opportunities for professional development and growth.

As this opportunity is part of an Innovate UK funded project, we would be looking to hire for an 18 month fixed term contract initially, with a view to potentially hiring into a permanent position at the end of the fixed term depending on the business need. We are also required under the terms of our grant to hire someone based in the UK – unfortunately, due to the size of our company, to support Visa sponsorship at this time and so any successful candidate will need to have a right to work in the UK.

WHO WOULD YOU BE WORKING WITHFIND OUT MORE ABOUT THE LEGATICS TEAM
The Legatics Team in London are a friendly bunch with a wide range of interests. We have regular team events where we can relax together outside of the office – recent events included darts at Flight Club and a team curry on Brick Lane! Many of us have experience of working in law firms where we found the outdated and inefficient ways of working so frustrating that we dove headfirst into the exciting and challenging world of LegalTech and we are all working together to disrupt established ways of working in the legal industry.
