Job Description
The Retail Azure Cloud Engineer will provide hands on Cloud infrastructure development and support skills. The role will involve collaboration with the product & architecture teams team to enable implementation of new solutions and existing systems whilst ensuring all relevant standards and policies are met.
What you'll be doing ?
- Delivering large, clean, maintainable features, resolve end-to-end issues and input to the definition of new approaches where applicable so as to deliver valuable features to our Retail customers.
- Utilizing Azure development skills to create and prove patterns using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) & Configuration-as-Code (CaC) approaches such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Contributing to larger projects and take a lead on small to medium sized work items inputting and contributing to design, build and deployment phases.
- Use metrics to make data-driven decisions to continuously improve the approaches to deployment, monitoring and operations, to enable simplified release and run activities providing performant and resilient systems in production.
- Sharing learning with peers, customers and other team members.
- Ensuring continual improvements to the knowledge and understanding of Azure Cloud / DevOps principals and operations to actively contribute to the success of the team, Division and wider Business as a whole.
- Being able to understand the benefits and use cases of a developer platform and have the ability to clearly communicate, explain and evangelize those benefits to a variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications
Who we're looking for ?
- Technology-focused degree level qualifications are preferred but not essential, with demonstrable experience considered an equivalent.
- Technically hands-on and have the ability to building and maintaining Azure Cloud Infrastructure using modern IaC methodologies.
- Have an understanding and usage of Azure Foundations, Scaffolding and Landing Zone-based architecture
- Exposure to Azure IaaS, PaaS and SaaS Connectivity
- Understanding of Azure Networking (Express Route, Virtual Networks, ASG / NSG, Azure Firewall)
- Azure Active Directory, Identity Management, RBAC · Linux and Windows Virtual Machines, Storage provisioning and configurations
- Exposure to and the willingness to progress with Azure Automation with PowerShell, ARM Templates and preferably Terraform (or Ansible)
- Competent technical skills in DevOps and CI / CD preferably using Azure DevOps
- Knowledge of Source Control using Bitbucket / GIT
- Understanding of Agile Planning using Jira & Confluence
- Understanding of ITIL processes
- Good standard of documentation
- High levels of self-motivation towards personal development
