We are looking for a passionate Lead Software Engineer to join our EMEA Technology team. This person will lead a squad in the Demand & Supply Management (DSM) Planning space.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

You will be working on technical solutions that serve other engineering, data, or business-facing teams. These solutions abstract and simplify foundational capabilities like streaming, computing, storing and visualizing data as well as business automation.

We work in an agile environment where you balance the team’s commitments for new features against solving bugs and supporting users.

We build our products to run reliable and at scale. This means you will be asked to code your infrastructure and automatically build, test and deploy your creations.

You will be asked to provide support by writing documentation as well as providing guidance to users with a variety of technical skills.

As a lead engineer, you provide technical guidance and direction to your team. You are the main point of contact for the Technical Product Manager for exploring feature possibilities and validating the product roadmap.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will be part of an agile scrum team, closely working with the Technical Product Manager, Scrum Master, and other team members that drive to deliver innovative solutions.

Advising product and business owners on specific technology-related aspects required to deliver solutions correctly.

Key partnership with Principal Engineer, Solution Architect, Engineering Leadership, and platform teams to identify the best solutions and ensure optimal implementation and delivery.

Through our communities of practice, you will interact with engineers from multiple other squads to help define Nike’s engineering culture, standards, and best practices, advocating for engineering excellence and innovation.

You will be reporting to engineering leadership, who will guide you to grow and build your career path.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • You have 5+ years software development experience, 2+ years leading mixed team composed of data and full stack engineers.
  • Experience leading projects in a highly collaborative, multi-discipline development team environment.
  • Experience working in AWS environment primarily EMR, S3, SNS, SQS, Kinesis, Lambda, ELB, Postgres and DynamoDB.
  • Experience in microservices architecture, Domain Driven Design, and RESTful Services using languages such as Java and Python.
  • Exposure to GraphQL API implementations.
  • Experience working with relational databases like MySQL and RDS and NoSQL data stores like DynamoDB, or MongoDB.
  • Prior experience in designing and implementing highly scalable web applications and services.
  • Experience with continuous integration, unit testing, static analysis, and automated integration tests. Continuous delivery experience preferred.

THE BONUS POINTS

  • Experience working with Databricks & Snowflake.
  • Experience with Enterprise Packaged Applications like SAP or O9.
  • Experience with React & other frontend technologies.
