Who is Growth Waves?

I'm a freelance Growth Consultant and Advisor for only Wellness and Eco-Friendly D2C Startups, startups that have a positive impact.

My business has grown to the point where it isn't manageable by myself, and honestly, I miss what I had at previous businesses : the opportunities to mentor starting individuals to grow and learn.

My approach is strategic and data-driven to analysing whole businesses to find growth opportunities, I don't do anything around brand marketing.

That is why I'm looking to support both my own business and with client work meaning you'll get both exposure to D2C and a bit of B2B growth.

My current client portfolio includes a superfood meal shake, a gut friendly soda brand, a CBD brand and a healthy coffee brand.

These are my consistent clients, however, I’m constantly looking for new brands and shorter term projects to work with, so there’s more variety on a month-to-month basis.

What does the role involve?

It'll be a range of different areas from content to conversion rate optimisation to ads to working on retention so great if you are looking to build a wide range of skills within growth.

We can try to focus it where possible more on the areas you enjoy. You may work on certain clients longer but no week will be the exact same, you'll be learning something new every week.

Plus, as we’re constantly looking for new exciting projects to work with, you’ll get to take part in sales calls with potential brands, provide input on who we work with and you might do more work for some brands compared to others given the variety in project length between short and long-term clients.

What does a day look like?

Here is an example day :

  • You start the day by reviewing the referral program performance.
  • You analyse the data both on website and email, speaking to the toolings team to get insights and points for improvement.
  • Next, you are preparing a growth advisory session with me, the focus is on scaling Meta ads.
  • You review the data the client sent over and my input to structure and prepare notes for the client.
  • In the afternoon we are conducting user interviews, discussing and analysing the results.

Another day could look like this :

Together we look at the KPIs for Meta (Facebook & Instagram) performance, we then talk about the performance and the improvement.

  • You implement some landing page and campaign improvements.
  • Later that day we are working on a one-off CRO project for a client.
  • You conduct first a GA4 analysis to identify the key opportunity areas and then do a hotjar analysis of heatmaps and user recording.
  • Then you go through the data of a Product-Market Fit analysis and summaries where the client does and doesn't have Product-Market Fit.
  • You send it over so that I have time to look before we meet the next day to discuss it and you learn how these insights can be turned into a strategy to improve Product-Market Fit.
  • You then help turn two of my articles into Linkedin carousels using a pre-made template to be published on Linkedin the following week.

For me the most important thing is mindset and approach :

  • A love for numbers and diving into data
  • You are eager to learn and not scared of trying new things
  • You love brands that have a positive impact for people or the planet

Ideally, I’m looking for someone who has at least 2-3 years of experience in a few of the following areas :

  • Experience with e-commerce / DTC startups
  • Experience in conversion rate optimisation
  • Experience in GA4
  • Experience with Klaviyo and email strategy
  • Experience with Shopify and potentially Skio or Recharge
  • Basics on Meta and / or Google Ads

The Details:

Duration : Looking for someone long-term to work and grow with me for at least the next 1-2 years.

Availability : I'm looking for a minimum of two days a week up to four days a week, flexible as to which days of the week and they don't have to be fixed.

Compensation : The compensation will depend on experience and the number of days. I believe in fair compensation, with a check in every three months to ensure it matches the level you are at and can be increased if needed (vs the old fashion once a year approach)

Location : This is a fully remote role, I am personally based in London and happy to meet in person if desired.

Contract Type : Given my company setup this will be a freelance contract, not an employee contract.
