First Brands Group is looking for a motivated, independent and goal-oriented Industrial Engineer to support activities of our manufacturing in the plant of Westphalia Automotive GmbH in Rheda, Germany.

The role of an Industrial Engineer will be responsible for all tasks of industrialization and provide support to discover potential for improvement by developing, presenting and implementing proposals which will optimize the manufacturing of towbars.

Core duties are included below, but not limited to:

  • Support in the cost and production-optimized development of our products
  • In the context of new start-ups, the coordination and determination of all production and processing steps necessary for the European production sites, taking into account costs, quality as well as ergonomic and manufacturing aspects
  • Documentation of the production process including machine setting data in parts lists and work plans
  • Product pre- and post-calculations, cost analyses, value design, make-or-buy analyses
  • Implementation of process FMEA and support for design FMEA
  • Carry out time analyses and workplace design
  • Arrange for the procurement of the necessary operating and production resources
  • Support and design of automated assembly and testing systems
  • Deadline tracking for the creation of equipment and release for production
  • Coordinate and define planning variables and planning data (processes, planned times) with production.
  • Perform and evaluate manufacturability analyses
  • Active participation in the optimization of the production layout, material flow and technological processes.

Minimum Experience required:

  • BA, Engineering or training as a technician or comparable qualification
  • Several years of professional experience in a comparable field of activity (automotive preferred)
  • Strong communication skills in English and German and intercultural competencies required

Requirements:

  • Analytical and cost-oriented work
  • Knowledge of ergonomics and business administration
  • Manufacturing knowledge in metalworking
  • Experience in product development
  • Knowledge in the field of automation and testing technology
  • MTM or REFA knowledge required
  • Confident handling of MS Office and SAP R3
  • In-depth knowledge of project work
  • Willingness to travel
