    The role

    Apolitical’s aim of transforming government can only be achieved if we continue to grow rapidly and engage a diverse range of public servants across the world. That’s why we’re looking for someone with initiative, creativity and flair who can lead and mentor a cross-functional team to build and execute growth and engagement strategies.

    You’ll have 4+ years of experience, ideally growing and engaging audiences.  You will be able to move at pace on multiple tasks, take projects from design to execution and evaluation, and have a flair for messaging and engaging audiences. The projects you run might include creating interactive content, organising online workshops, running competitions and marketing online courses.

    You’ll need to put our users at the centre of what you do so you’ll need to be able to demonstrate your previous impact engaging audiences. You’ll also need to be a digital marketing native who has worked across various marketing projects and functions.

    Your mission/goal: to get millions of public servants from around the world joining the Apolitical platform and tapping into the knowledge of their peers

    Your key activities will involve: 

    • Planning, executing and tracking multi-channel campaigns together with your team to drive user growth and engagement
    • Responsibility for driving site traffic through activities such as content marketing, social media and SEO
    • Marketing our premium product and courses to both existing and new users as well as enterprise customers (including running paid adverts)
    • Optimising conversion across our ‘free’ and ‘paid’ acquisition funnels including running multivariate tests
    • Nurturing and supporting your team to ensure they are able to deliver on their objectives and are continuously learning and developing.
    • Identifying and nurturing key partnerships with government teams and departments to drive growth
    • Ensuring concise and engaging messaging across all activities including email communications

    What you’ll need to have:

    • Previous experience in marketing – You must have 2+ years experience working in marketing and have experience working with least four of the following: CRM systems, SEO, WordPress, Paid Social Media, Unpaid Social Media, Conversion Rate Optimisation, Content Marketing, PPC, Google Analytics.
    • Previous experience in engaging audiences – You must be able to demonstrate that you’ve worked on projects with audience engagement at the core. This could include activities such delivering high engagement emails and campaigns, designing engaging content, running online events etc.
    • Creativity – You enjoy thinking of new ways to engage public servants and build our user base.
    • A drive to understand and improve things. You’re a self-starter who will make things happen, not wait to be directed.
    • Excellent communication – Your communication is persuasive and compelling. You can credibly communicate with seniors. You are great at working with other teams.
    • Strategic project management skills – You have experience managing complex projects and you enjoy planning projects to meet company goals.
    • A data and goal driven mindset – You enjoy assessing the effectiveness of your effort by analysing data.
    • Passion – You are enthusiastic about i) building and engaging our user base of public servants, and ii) learning about policy and the public service.

    What you might have:

    • Experience managing a team
    • A track record of growing an audience
    • Experience working in a start-up environment
