io173 is currently looking to recruit a junior financial controller for a technology consulting business in London.

You will be based in the London headquarters in a high-level, fast-paced environment reporting directly to the CFO. This is a non-traditional role focused on supporting multiple business entities and will extend to the group companies of the major shareholder providing financial analysis, and dealing with financial related operations for those entities domiciled in multiple countries.

Essential Functions:

  • Working knowledge of best practice accounting principles
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports
  • Assisting upper management with budgeting
  • Ensuring all accounting practices follow legal guidelines and established accounting principles
  • Assisting with billing and tax documentation preparation
  • Working with the company executives to create internal controls and policies
  • Collaborating with the IT department to maintain financial records and system processes
  • Provides continual financial analysis
  • Recording of Inter-company activity
  • Prepare and supply documentation required for annual audits
  • Responsible for Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable oversight
  • Vendor and client interaction as it relates to finance and invoicing matters
  • Maintains knowledge of laws and regulations to ensure compliance with current pertinent accounting policies, procedures, and practices to minimize risk
  • Coordination with the appropriate members of the team as it relates to matters that impact the finance department
  • Participates in finance initiatives such as staff meetings, communications, special projects
  • Any other finance relates duties as assigned


  • Understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Strong financial analytical skills

Technical skills:

  • Proficient in the use of QuickBooks and Xero
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience of Kimble PSA (Salesforce) or FinancialForce would be advantageous
  • Must work well in a technology-driven environment with some knowledge of automation a plus

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (Required)
  • Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field and/or accounting qualification (fully finished or currently studying) would be ideal
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Experience in a demanding, results-oriented environment ideally in a mature growth company
