The client serves over 1,000 buyers and sellers across more than 40 countries and offers simple digital solutions that enable SMEs to trade like large corporates.
Through the in-house developed digital platform, our client empowers businesses to grow, thus fostering strong international partnerships.
The company currently operates out of 9 offices throughout the world.
Tasks
- Grow and manage multiple cross-functional Squads consisting of Java and JavaScript Engineers, helping them to become self-organized, agile and autonomous
- Be responsible for the people within the Squads as well as for the delivery
- Provide guidance with regard to major architectural questions
- Define objectives, track the progress and support every Engineer in achieving them
- Coach and mentor the Engineers by providing regular feedback
- Establish a vital Engineering culture
- Team-up with other Engineering Managers and the Senior Product Leadership
- Be part of the overall Senior Leadership Team for our Product & Engineering Team
Requirements
- You are an experienced Software Engineering professional with at least 4 years of experience in a relevant Leadership role (such as Engineering Manager or VP Engineering with People responsibility) and experience Java and JavaScript
- In your previous roles, you have developed and demonstrated your dedication for best-in-class applications using Java and JavaScript technologies
- You have worked in or have a strong working knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, relational databases, React.js, TypeScript, Redux and related technologies
- You lead in an emphatic and inspirational way that is respected by the team
- You have strong communication and relationship management skills as Engineering work is organized in different Squads
- You are an effective problem solver and are eager to take decisions
- You have a strong Business sense
- You possess eagerness to work in a fast-paced, fault-tolerant, agile environment with cross-functional teams
- You are fluent in English
