Digital Signal Processing Engineer SpaceTech / Communications
Location : Surrey (Hybrid)
Type : Full-time, Permanent

Experienced Communications Digital Signal Processing Engineer requited to join a company developing software-empowered systems that bring Earth-like computing capabilities to space.
Since 2014, their proven technology has been deployed in over 50 deep space and satellite missions, including collaborations with NASA and the European Space Agency.
As a global start-up with offices in the US and Europe, they aim to revolutionise satellite, space robot, and spacecraft communication through their proprietary SDR, multi-core architecture.
They are seeking an experienced Communications DSP Engineer to lead the innovation of next-generation space connectivity technology.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop advanced communication algorithms.
- Play a significant role in architecture and design for modem and communication protocols.
- Conduct and oversee research on algorithms, including theoretical analysis and simulations.
- Present algorithms and system designs to key stakeholders in technical reviews.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to guide high-impact decisions on system design and implementation.
Requirements :
- Experience in developing modem technology for wireless communication systems.
- Expertise in designing and developing DSP algorithms, especially for communication systems.
- Skilled in using MATLAB for algorithm development, modeling, and simulation.
- Knowledge of synchronization methods, RF front-end designs, channel estimation, encoding / decoding, error correction, and communication protocol design.
- Degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field, with a focus on signal processing.
- Motivated, team-oriented, and committed to achieving high-quality results.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with array processing, MIMO, and multi-user communication systems.
- Background in developing systems for space applications.
- Familiarity with space communication protocols.
- Knowledge of mmWave communication system design.
- Experience in fixed-point modeling using DSP C / C++ and / or Python.
- Hands-on experience with communication lab equipment and automation tools.
- Prior experience or enthusiasm for space technology and exploration.
