This Compliance role will report into the Director of Risk & Compliance and will be fundamental in supporting April to grow responsibly, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and making sure the customer is at the heart of everything we do.

The role offers a fast-paced environment with a real opportunity to make an impact and be involved in shaping an early-stage start-up.

What will you be doing?

  • Assessing cases to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards and provide feedback on any areas of development.
  • Conducting 2nd line risk-based reviews, ensuring that identified issues are addressed and recurrence risks are mitigated.
  • Performing AML and Financial Crime investigations and following the escalation processes.
  • Collaborating with all internal departments to address compliance issues and implement remedial actions as necessary.
  • Carrying out regular reviews of the company policies, procedures and operations, to ensure compliance with FCA regulations and industry standards.
  • Reporting any potential compliance breaches or conduct issues and ensuring they are resolved efficiently and thoroughly.
  • Assisting in the development and delivery of compliance training programs for employees to raise awareness of regulatory requirements and promote a culture of compliance.

Experience required :

  • 2+ years’ experience within a financial services firm, preferably mortgages.
  • Strong understanding of FCA regulation, specifically MCOB and Consumer Duty, and GDPR.
  • Experience in conducting quality assurance and monitoring reviews.
  • Good interpersonal skills and a proactive problem-solving approach.
