The Role: We are looking for a commercial associate with data experience (c.2-6 PQE) to join our award-winning commercial and technology team in London. You will be working with leading partners in technology, digital and data and acting for the highest profile clients. This includes the world's largest digital media platforms. Ideally, you will have several years of commercial work under your belt (between 2-6 years) plus: excellent commercial data experience, including GDPR and PECR but also looking to learn about the wider international data environment; exposure to various sectors, in particular technology, digital and retail; a drive to take on challenging, cutting edge data issues, with a view to becoming a leader in your field; a fully commercial approach, always with a view to finding practical solutions; a collaborative outlook, aiming to be a trusted partner with colleagues and clients; and a desire to help grow the practice and build on the already stellar reputation of our award-winning team.
The Team: Our Commercial Team is ranked Tier 1 for Commercial Contracts in Legal 500 and has been named TMT Team of the year for 2020 and 2021 in the Legal Business Awards. Our data-related work covers a healthy mix of challenging issues, which includes: advising on cutting edge issues arising from the complex adtech ecosystem; drafting and negotiating DPAs with major players in the technology market; advising on the full range of data sharing agreements, including international data transfers; running GDPR compliance audits and remediation programmes; analysing and advising on technology projects and marketing innovations, including lawful basis, transparency, PECR compliance and accountability documentation; dealing with GDPR/PECR compliance in the context of corporate acquisitions; and managing outsourced DSARs.
