Business Unit Head Patient Recruitment Materials and Digital Strategy

Job Purpose

To take overall responsibility for the daily running and future growth strategy of the Business Unit (BU) in line with Company expectations. To advise and lead on the expansion of Patient Recruitment and Retention services within Innovative Trials including but not limited to, the introduction of Digital services.

 

Key responsibilities

To oversee the team to ensure effective management of patient recruitment & retention projects, including:

  • Lead on mapping new services relating to patient recruitment and retention including the introduction of digital services.
  • To lead on the development of paper based recruitment and retention materials including new services identified
  • Lead/support on client relationships, acting as point of contact for escalations
  • Maintain and report on BU Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Overview/Management of projects across the BU
  • Accountable for the management of third party vendors
  • Internal team management including line management of sPRM and below
  • Actively manage the unit resource and study allocations
  • To review current processes and review opportunities to improve process, quality or efficiencies
  • Active role in business development activities

 

Detailed Responsibilities

Client Contact and Project Management

  • Arrange and lead client communications
  • Lead internal team to ensure delivery of projects on time, in full, within budget to a high standard with consistent quality
  • Lead communications across business units to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Oversee the completion of all start-up and project management documentation
  • Oversee activities contracted to vendors, ensuring quality and timeliness of work completed
  • Define timelines with the client and ensure adherence to the timelines
  • Review of copy ensuring compliance to all necessary regulatory/client requirements
  • Oversee creation of artwork, translations, digital campaigns, websites, retention item selection and management, and printing and shipping of materials
  • Review of study/programme KPIs
  • Review to ensure timely and accurate tracker completion

 

Unit, Resource and Internal Team Management

  • Main point of escalation for the Unit for team members
  • Line management of sPRM role and below (where required)
  • Point of escalation for client issues/complaints
  • Provide strategic oversight on projects across the Unit
  • Ensure compliance across the Unit to both internal and client SOPs
  • Training and support of new staff
  • Lead/participate in interviews as requested
  • Allocation of resource, both internal and vendor resource
  • Ensure timely completion of invoicing across the team
  • Understanding and input into Unit budget, profit/loss
  • Other responsibilities as delegated by Company Directors

 

Key attributes/Skills/education

  • Experience of working in a pharmaceutical setting / healthcare agency and/or pharmaceutical marketing agency
  • Ability to multitask, managing a variety of projects simultaneously and experience working with numerous stakeholders on multi regional projects
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office programs; Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Degree or higher in a biological science, or demonstrating knowledge/experience in materials development for patient recruitment, clinical research or health communications.
  • Experience of clinical trial management is desirable but not essential.
  • Relevant knowledge of GCP/ICH
  • Experience of implementing digital campaigns for clinical trials
  • Demonstrated experience of managing teams
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to multitask, managing a variety of projects simultaneously and experience of working with numerous stakeholders on multi-regional projects
  • Experience of working with Google Suite preferable
