We are looking to recruit a diverse group to be able to best handle the challenges in the emerging market of the Internet of Things. Currently we are seeking a Big Data Engineer to join our team and be based in our Munich office.

Your tasks:

  • Help relayr build the world’s most advanced IoT Cloud Platform.
  • Work heavily on profiling and scaling big data systems.
  • Design, develop and improve microservices in our analytics/machine-learning backend using the newest technologies.
  • Work with internal libraries and services to build both prototyped and ready-to-market solutions.
  • Engage in architectural discussions, collaborate with Data Scientists on designing large-scale machine learning systems.
  • Collaborate with cloud and hardware teams to give feedback on internal systems and define new features.
  • Work with QA and DevOps in the development, testing and deployment of services.

Your skills:

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in backend engineering
  • Python and/or Java coding expertise
  • Good understanding for scaling distributed systems
  • Experience with code profiling tools
  • Experience with persistence (i.e. Postgres), distributed storage (e.g. Hadoop), messaging (MQTT, Kafka) and large scale data processing (Spark / Flink)
  • Able to work in a structured, test oriented manner with experience in TDD
  • Experience with C++ is a plus
