Building good products is hard. It’s not enough to make high-quality software, what you build also needs to be useful for your users. In the words of Marty Cagan, good product teams realize that they need to engage directly with their users every week to understand their customer’s perspectives better. But continuously doing good user research is incredibly time-consuming. We have to either make decisions based on low-fidelity, often heavily biased, survey results or spend days pre-screening and recruiting potential research participants for user interviews.
