Many consumer products such as cosmetics, coatings and packaging cannot be produced without oil-based ingredients that are harmful to the environment and human health. Therefore, end product manufacturers encounter increasing pressure by consumers and regulators to increase the sustainability of their products. However, for many synthetic ingredients that fulfil important functionalities such as UV filters, antioxidants and emulsifiers natural alternatives are either non-existent or offer poor performance.

Lignovations has developed a patented process to manufacture natural functional ingredients from biomass (lignin) to replace harmful substances in high-value applications such as cosmetics, enabling manufacturers to improve their products. Our proprietary process enables the production of extremely small lignin particles which results in higher performance than other natural alternatives. Further, our particles are multifunctional and fully biodegradable.
