Pluvion, formerly Grimm Water Solutions GmbH, an innovative Water Tech company from Freiburg, has successfully closed a €1 million pre-seed financing round with prominent investors. The Heilbronn-based AI investor D11Z led the round, which also included the Start-up BW Seed Fund, managed by MBG Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg, and kopa Ventures. This infusion of capital will accelerate the development and scaling of Pluvion’s cutting-edge AI-driven software solutions for the water management industry.
Pluvion stands for intelligent and forward-looking software solutions in water management. Its aim is to maximize the efficiency and sustainability of water infrastructures by offering innovative technologies for monitoring and optimizing water and wastewater networks.
Pluvion pursues the vision of developing a broad suite of SaaS solutions for the water industry. Their first product, WATER+, empowers wastewater utilities to efficiently detect, locate, and forecast foreign water infiltration in sewer networks. Their AI-powered approach utilizes available sensor data and is ten times more cost-effective than conventional methods. It also enables live monitoring and predictive maintenance, transforming how water networks are managed.
“Our investors share our commitment to resilient water management and at the same time understand how highly scalable AI products work. With their support, we can take our AI-based software product to the next level and conquer new target markets,“ said Phillip Grimm, CEO of Pluvion.
With this new funding, Pluvion is poised to expand its market presence and enhance the integration of WATER+into existing infrastructure. Additionally, the investment enables the development of new solutions that address urgent challenges, such as those arising from extreme weather events like heavy rain and flooding. Strong partnerships with established data and infrastructure providers in the water industry ensure seamless integration of Pluvion’s solutions and alignment with all customer requirements.
“Software solutions such as WATER+ can significantly improve the performance of wastewater systems through data-based analysis and automation, leading to better environmental results and economic benefits in the long term. As an investor, we are convinced that the water industry will benefit greatly from digitalization. Pluvion makes an essential contribution to the digital transformation and the responsible use of water,“ added Jan Ludwig, Investment Manager at D11Z Ventures.
