ThinkYoung, in collaboration with Google.org, invites nonprofit organizations to participate in an exciting series of hackathons designed to combat election disinformation and reduce barriers to voting. These events offer a unique opportunity to win up to €300,000 in cash and prizes, gain valuable mentorship, and accelerate impactful projects.
The first event will take place in Paris, where 10 selected nonprofits will compete for two €10,000 prizes. Participants will have the chance to collaborate with experts, network with partners, and showcase their innovative solutions. Three additional hackathons will be held across Europe, each offering two €10,000 prizes to the winning nonprofits.
The eight winners from the four hackathons will be invited to a final event, where the top three projects will be awarded significant funding and acceleration programs:
- 1st Place: €150,000 in cash and €50,000 in an 8-month acceleration program
- 2nd Place: €20,000 in cash and €10,000 in an acceleration program
- 3rd Place: €20,000 in cash and €10,000 in an acceleration program
Selection Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated based on five key criteria, each scored out of 5 points:
- Significance: The project’s alignment with the mission to combat election disinformation and its potential for lasting impact.
- Innovation: The originality and creativity of the proposed solutions in the European context.
- Technological Aspects: The effective use of technology, with a preference for projects incorporating AI.
- Team: The team’s capability, diversity of skills, and effectiveness in project execution.
- Scalability: The potential for the project to be replicated and sustained beyond the grant period.
