QOMMUTE, a French leader in passenger information, announced that it has raised €2.4 million to accelerate its integration with the biggest French operators, while developing its presence on a European scale. The deal was led by Re-Sources Capital, an entrepreneurial investment fund that supports entrepreneurs in their growth projects.
QOMMUTE’s mission – to transform the daily lives of passengers through reliable, instant information – is particularly important at a time when a lack of information can deter up to 73% of passengers from taking public transport, and when more than nine out of ten users want more real-time information.
Founded in 2013 by Cyril Labi and Nicolas Deshoulliers in Marseille, QOMMUTE is a pioneer in the digital transformation of transport services, having created the first centralised management software for real-time passenger information. Previously self-financed and profitable, this pioneering company has decided to raise funds to become the European benchmark for real-time passenger information.
Cyril Labi, co-founder and CEO of QOMMUTE, commented: “From the outset, our aim has always been to transform the daily lives of passengers by enabling them to receive reliable, instant information. The decision to raise funds for the first time marks a crucial step in our journey to further accelerate our expansion and realise our ambition to become the European standard for centralised passenger information. I’m particularly excited to be starting this new phase with Re-Sources, a fund of entrepreneurs on a human scale that really understands our challenges.”
QOMMUTE has been working with the main players in the public transport sector for 10 years. Its software enables pre-established scenarios to be run on the basis of technical data (from 5 to 400 scenarios, depending on the size of the operator). These then generate passenger information messages that are automatically broadcast on all available channels, instantaneously. This technology is crucial both on a day-to-day basis and when serious breakdowns or incidents affect millions of people. 70 transport networks and customer companies in France are already using QOMMUTE’s software, and advanced discussions are underway with several European operators.
Romain Rastel, founding partner of Re-Sources Capital, said: “On a daily basis, tens of millions of French users are already benefiting from QOMMUTE’s technology without even knowing it. We are proud to support this hidden French gem in its development. Their expertise and clear vision of their market make them a partner of choice for French, European and even global operators and a major player in the digital transformation of the eminently strategic passenger transport sector.”
