Barcelona-based WIVI Vision raises €4 million to improve visual health with gamified AI-based therapies

WIVI Vision, a company offering innovative solutions to improve visual efficiency and treat visual dysfunctions in diagnosis and subsequent recovery, announced the closing of a €4 million round of funding led by Adara Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm that invests in deep tech companies with a European footprint, with participation from Hearstlab, Avançsa, Caixabank DayOne, BBVA Spark, Banco Santander, as well as current partners such as Peak Thomas (Pedro Tortosa), VC Go GMBH, among others.

The Series A financing round includes a mix of equity and debt and will help the company boost its domestic and international growth, as well as accelerate the expansion of the team and support the development of new technologies. WIVI Vision has raised €7 million to date, and the new funding will help the company take another significant step forward in achieving its goal of becoming a real driver of change and modernization in the optical and visual health sector.

Founded in 2016, WIVI Vision has already established a presence in more than 70 centers specializing in visual health throughout Spain. The company also has expansion agreements with other organizations in the sector, including optometrists and optical centers such as NOG, Claravisión, Cecop, Federópticos, General Óptica, among others, as well as partnerships with other technology companies, public and private hospitals, and leading academic institutions.

WIVI Vision recently announced its plans to expand internationally after signing an agreement with Vision Rehab Technologies, Inc. (VRTI), which will become the exclusive distributor of WIVI Vision technology in the United States. WIVI Vision plans to expand its presence across the country, with the goal of launching in more countries in the coming years. With this new financing, the company also plans to grow its team to help drive international growth.
