UK-based Hotel Manager raises over €1 million to help hotels manage a new era for travel

Traveltech innovators Hotel Manager have just raised over €1 million – just a few weeks after taking part in the FutureTravel Pitch Competition! The startup is building the modern infrastructure for hotels, helping them cater to travel needs in the digital age.

The travel industry is continuing to showcase high levels of exciting innovation. Since the days of the pandemic, players across the industry have been racing to digitise and cater to the needs of the modern traveller – who is ever-more concerned with having more personalisation, enhanced interactions, and the feeling of a tailor-made experience.

It’s left many in the sector juggling between old-school manual processes and high-level tech-based tools  – which can become a complicated spaghetti of processes. For hotel operators, in particular, reaching guests in the online space, and catering to their every need via unfamiliar and hard-to-use tools, has become an increasingly stressful challenge. Having digital tools and software has become a necessity.

SaaS startup, dedicated to enhancing the traveltech sphere, Hotel Manager has just secured new funding to expand its platform. It comes just weeks after the team’s participation in the FutureTravel Summit!

Ajwad Hashim, CEO: “In order for hotels to win in the new world of travel, they will need powerful solutions that work in their favour, and not against them. Existing tech is too expensive, too fragmented and not cut out for the modern world.Together with hotel owners, hospitality staff members and fellow travellers, we’ve reimagined hotel software from the ground up and purpose-built it for an on-demand generation.”

The details

  • Over €1 million (£1 million) was raised in a seed round
  • Funding was led by Fuel Ventures with participation by Pitchdrive VC, CORE Angels Lisbon, Boost Fund, StartupIST Ventures and leading angel investors
  • Funding will be used to build on rapid growth and fuel further expansion

Delivering the modern infrastructure for hotels

Founded in 2020 by CEO Ajwad Hashim, two-times founder and former Technology Innovation lead at Barclays, together with Gokulan Kannan, Agni Ilango and Jay Luarca, the team behind Hotel Manager bring a wealth of SaaS technology and commercial experience to the company.  Now, they are all working together to reimagine the future of hospitality through tech.

Based in the UK, Hotel Manager provides hotels with – you guessed it – a comprehensive management suite. It allows providers to combine the modules they need for their properties with an easy-to-use no-code platform. Mix-and-match modules like Chat, Check-In and Commerce enable hotels to supercharge revenues and rule operations.

With the platform, hoteliers can launch their own guest-facing applications to enable a new communication channel, promoting in-house services as well as attracting diversified revenue streams through commission-based experience booking income. On the operational side, Hotel Manager provides staff with a purpose-built solution – helping move away from excel spreadsheets and WhatsApp.

In recent years, there has been a shift in guest expectations at hotels. With the rise of technology, guests now expect a more personalised and seamless experience when staying at a hotel. This includes being able to book rooms and manage their stay using mobile devices, having access to high-speed internet and other technology amenities, and being able to easily connect with hotel staff and services using their personal devices.

Hotel Manager aims to help hoteliers cater to these changing needs and expectations, giving players in the field a must-have tool.

With this round, Hotel Manager aims to build on its rapid growth in user base and further expand into global markets. The funding will enable the team to expand and hire key team members as well as develop strategic partnerships to drive user growth.
