Lisbon-based RealFevr scores €10 million to lead football into the NFT era

Portuguese startup RealFevr has just raised €10 million in a new funding round. The Web3 startup is ushering in a new era for sports fans – one defined by NFTs and digital tech, bringing fans and the sport closer. 

As Web3 continues to take shape and become an ever-present part of daily life, it seems there are few, if any, industries that aren’t getting in on the NFT, blockchain and digital action. Now, with the World Cup in sight, football is getting an NFT boost thanks to Portuguese startup RealFevr. 

Tapping into one of the world’s most lucrative sports, RealFevr is boosting the sports GameFi & NFT space through product and market innovation. It’s just scored a new funding round and plans to launch new products imminently. 

The details

This latest €10 million cash investment was led by global sports investor ADvantage, with participation from Semapa Next, Shilling Capital Partners, and several international football stars.

In 2021, the startup launched ​​the world’s first soccer video NFT marketplace, announced IP partnerships with international sports properties such as Liga Portugal, Portuguese Football Federation, Torino FC and Beach Soccer Worldwide, and signed multiple world-class athletes as official ambassadors and investors. 

This funding will accelerate the team’s plan for international expansion along with these launches and collaborations.

Football NFT Marketplace

Founded in Lisbon in 2015, RealFevr is a startup with an aim to revolutionize the Fantasy Leagues market. The team has quickly established itself in the rising market of blockchain, NFTs, and crypto-assets, and now, it’s ready for a new challenge –  to become the worldwide leader for sports video NFTs, and transition from collecting physical stickers to digital and immersive collectables.

The startup combines digital tech and blockchain decentralization to reimagine the sports NFT space, launching the first football NFT marketplace in video format. 

Digital collectables currently available on the platform include moments featuring superstars like Bruno Fernandes, who is RealFevr’s global ambassador and shareholder, Cristiano Ronaldo, Iker Casillas, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Ángel Di María, Ronaldinho, Eric Cantona, Totti, Rúben Dias, and many others. 

Bolstered by its active global community, RealFevr’s pack drops have continued to be a hot commodity despite the recent crypto market downturn. All NFT collection pack drops to date have sold out in less than 24 hours, with over 145,000 packs sold.

The investment will further accelerate RealFevr’s international expansion, acquisition of new intellectual property rights, and launch the world’s first Trading Moments Game: FEVR Battle Arena, set to be released in the coming weeks.
