Don’t miss the Startup Media panel discussion at this year’s EU-Startups Summit on May 12-13 in Barcelona!

On May 12-13, we will be hosting our annual EU-Startups Summit in beautiful Barcelona – gathering around 1,600 founders, investors, and startup enthusiasts for two days of networking, inspiration and learning.

For early-stage startups, getting noticed and getting media attention can be a crucial part to getting off the ground. Media coverage can help startups to get on the radar of early-adopters, future team members and investors alike. Across Europe, startup ecosystems are thriving and we have a healthy number of media publications keeping us up-to-date on all the latest startup news.

Given the EU-Startups Summit is Europe’s meeting point for startups, investors, and the startup community as a whole, we wanted to draw some attention to Europe’s startup publications – sharing who are the key players in this sector and how to get featured.

This year, we’ll be hosting a Startup Media panel discussion on the main stage, featuring some of Europe’s leading publications and startup media representatives. This panel will feature Mike Butcher, the Editor-at-Large of TechCrunch, Remco Janssen, the founder and publisher of Silicon Canals, Cathy White, the founder and director of CEW Communications, and Thomas Ohr, the founder and CEO of EU-Startups.

These four media representatives will surely be able to share some incredibly valuable insights for any startup or entrepreneur looking to get noticed by the media, and it is going to be a panel you don’t want to miss!

Mike Butcher is Editor-at-large of TechCrunch. He has written for several UK newspapers and magazines and has been named one of the most influential people in European technology by Wired UK. He has spoken at the likes of the World Economic Forum and also interviewed names such as Tony Blair and many others. TechCrunch, founded in 2005, is based in the US and covers global startup news, making Mike a global expert on all things startup.

Remco Janssen is the Founder & Publisher of Silicon Canals, an active member of the tech and startup ecosystem, and is passionate about the ways tech startups and corporates communicate. He is an expert in PR for startups and content marketing. Founded in 2014 in the Netherlands, Silicon Canals reports on the Benelux and European startup ecosystem, covering news, knowledge and insights related to European tech.

Cathy White, Founder & Director of CEW Communications, specialises in communications for tech startups and the wider ecosystem that supports them. She is also a Director of GeekGirl Meetup UK. Cathy founded CEW Communications at the end of 2016, and since launching, CEW has worked with a roster of clients including many fast-growing startups – Bright Little Labs, Jobbio, and Yodel – and investors – BGTA, Five Seasons Ventures, and SILK Ventures. Cathy will moderate the Startup Media panel discussion on our main stage.

Thomas Ohr is the Founder & CEO of EU-Startups. He launched the online publication back in 2010, driven by his passion for startups and excitement about Europe’s future. Since then, EU-Startups has grown into one of Europe’s leading startup publications. EU-Startups (Menlo Media S.L.) and the core team is based in Barcelona and aims to connect the startup ecosystems from across Europe, while giving European startups the visibility they deserve.

This media panel is going to be at once educational and enjoyable. These four media experts are all leading the startup media sector in Europe and will have interesting stories to share with us. Make sure not to miss it! Secure your ticket now!
