Cork-based Kwayga launches across Europe to connect food and beverage buyers with suppliers 24/7

Our world is increasingly connected and businesses across industries are creating networks on an international scale. Whilst going international brings big opportunities for business, it also has some challenges – namely connecting and communicating on an efficient level across different languages and timezones.

Operating in the food and beverage industry to match up buyers and suppliers 24/7, Cork-based Kwayga has just launched into the European market. The Irish startup allows food and drink companies to trade with anyone, anywhere as they provide message translations and live interpretation on screen to support multilingual conversations.

Founded in 2021 by Martin Fitzgerald and Mike McGrath, Kwayga’s platform solves a range of challenges that B2B buyers and suppliers face on a daily basis when finding, verifying, connecting with and communicating in any language with new perfectly matched buyers or suppliers. It also fills the gap in in-house resources and skill sets that buyers and suppliers in the food and beverage industry lack when researching new business opportunities.

Based on a subscription model, the platform operates now in 37 countries across the UK and EU and helps suppliers and buyers build relationships with the right people. Right Buyer, Right Supplier, Right Time.

Martin Fitzgerald, CEO and co-founder of Kwayga said: “We are delighted to finally launch Kwayga across European markets as it is a major milestone in our business to date. Since first launching the platform back in 2021, it has helped many suppliers and buyers gain new business opportunities and has also helped them scale their businesses as a result. We are excited to expand further across Europe and break down the barriers of cross border trading, which will give suppliers and buyers alike more freedom in making the correct decisions for their businesses. There are 50 million businesses across the globe that could be using Kwayga to trade internationally. No matter where your business is located, Kwayga will show the world to you and you to the world.”

The company’s matching algorithm analyses business’ data to match buyers with suppliers, providing active high-quality shortlists in minutes instead of months. This is done on an ongoing basis, but also in the Kwayga Deal Centre where buyers post live requirements for suppliers to engage on. The matching process is available around the clock and is facilitated through smart technologies. Businesses who sign up to the platform under a premium account undergo a rigorous verification process in order to authenticate their profile and get the ‘verified’ tick to protect the ecosystem of trust.

Right now, Kwayga is focused on connecting supermarket buyers with private label suppliers and both supermarket buyers and distributors with scaling suppliers of trending products, such as products in the free-from category.

In our increasingly connected world, tech like this allows businesses to scale up and grow their companies in an easier way, and, it keeps Europe’s business ecosystem thriving.
