weGrow Co-Founder & CEO Gernot Schwendtner will speak at the EU-Startups Summit on May 12-13 in Barcelona!

On May 12-13 we are finally bringing back the EU-Startups Summit to our home city of Barcelona! At this year’s in-person event, you will have the chance to join around 1,600 other attendees representing the full spectrum of Europe’s startup ecosystem. From high-flying investors to aspiring entrepreneurs, as well as the odd tycoon and politician, you’ll have the chance to listen to inspirational talks and make excellent connections. Ready for two days of unmissable action?

This year’s lineup of speakers is on fire! Today, we are introducing you to one of the two co-founders behind weGrow InternationalGernot Schwendtner! Joining us on the workshop stage, Gernot will give a talk on how to not f*** up your international expansion – surely essential listening for any founder with global ambitions.

Gernot is the Co-Founder and CEO of weGrow International – a Paris, Berlin and Amsterdam-based expansion scaleup that helps teams to scale and drive growth. Gernot is an inspiring leader and expert when it comes to international growth, having vast experience in scaling into new markets, business development and marketing. He has impacted more than 400 founders in ecommerce, mobility, smart cities, B2B, SaaS and the travel industry with their international expansion journeys – including companies like WeTransfer, TravelBird and ParkBee. Gernot also partners with top investors and develops funding strategies that help companies get the capital needed for expansion plans as quickly as possible – time is of the essence, after all.

Founded in 2018, weGrow International helps tech startups achieve fast and sustainable international growth. Headquartered in Amsterdam, the fast-growing team focuses on Europe and the USA, with a strong footprint in all German-speaking markets, France, Benelux and the Nordics. It’s estimated that only 0.4% of promising ventures succeed when going international – weGrow wants to beat the odds and help teams take to global heights. Providing a network of over 100 market and industry experts, next to a select core team of experienced growth advisors and consultants, the company helps founders structure, accelerate and enable growth ambitions – focusing on scouting the best international talent, raising vital capital and developing growth mindsets to execute global market rollouts.

Before co-founding weGrow International, Gernot was the VP of Marketing and International Country Manager of TravelBird, the Managing Director of Newsreisen, and, he even built up a venture-builder for an Austrian media company. He certainly has a wealth of knowledge and expertise to share! Giving us advice on how to not f*** up international expansion plans, Gernot will join us in Barcelona to share his thoughts on how to know if your startup is ready to go global, which markets you should be choosing, and also how to identify and avoid common pitfalls and mistakes that tech companies make. He’ll be able to draw on real client cases and experiences, giving you incredibly valuable insights.
