Barcelona-based Typeform picks up €123 million for its conversational interaction platform

Typeform, the conversational interaction platform born in Barcelona, has raised €123 million in a new funding round led by Sofina. Investors Top Tier Capital Partners, GP Bullhound, Teamworthy Ventures and Trium Venture Partners also participated.

Founded in 2013 by Robert Muñoz and David Okuniev, Typeform is reinventing the creation and use of online forms that we fill out on webpages. With this new funding, it’s placed itself on the ‘soonicorn’ list as it reached a valuation of €850 million.

Typeform is a web-based platform for collecting and sharing information, in a conversational, human way. Today, people from all over the world are using typeforms to create anything from surveys to apps, without writing a line of code. We chatted to founder David back in 2017 about his journey in setting up this fast-growing company.

Now with a team of 450 between Barcelona and San Francisco, the company is now entering a new phase of product development acceleration, incorporating new tech, growing the team even further, and deepening its system of strategic alliances with partners – including existing integrations with Mailchimp, Google, SalesForce, Slack, HubSpot and Airtable.

Currently, Typeform counts more than 125,000 companies worldwide among its clients and generates more than 500 million interactions a year through access to the software developed by the firm to create and manage online forms that also allow extensive data collection.

Joaquim Lecha, CEO of Typeform commented: “We want to help clients engage their audiences and grow their businesses through more immersive and versatile online experiences.”

Benjamin Sabatier from Sofina added: “Typeform’s conversational solutions drive higher response rates and provide richer information to improve consumer experiences”.
