HumanForest and Deliveroo partner up to boost sustainable delivery across London

HumanForest has announced an exciting new partnership with food delivery unicorn Deliveroo to offer delivery riders access to sustainable transport in the UK capital. The fresh partnership will give Deliveroo riders a brand new affordable payment model as part of HumanForest’s vision to boost sustainable mobility in London.

Deliveroo, founded in 2013, is one of Europe’s food delivery giants and has embarked on a mission to give customers the highest quality of choice and service in a sustainable way. The company works with over 140,000 best-loved restaurants and grocery partners, as well as 150,000 riders, and operates across 11 markets including Australia, Belgium, France, Hong Kong, Italy, Ireland, Netherlands, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and the United Kingdom.

The London-based unicorn has seen impressive revenue growth year on year and received a mega-round of €525 million in 2019 in a round led by Amazon.

London-based HumanForest provides sustainable and affordable shared e-bikes across London. Founded in 2019, the company raised €1.4 million via Crowdcube in 2020 and launched in 2021. Offering users 10 minutes of free usage per day, followed by an affordable 15p per minute thereafter, the startup is adding its name to the growing list of European sustainable mobility providers. In September 2021, it successfully launched 800 zero-emission, fully electric bikes across London and has been growing from strength to strength ever since.

Laura Elms, Head of Sales & Partnerships at HumanForest, said: “This is a huge endorsement for HumanForest and a really important moment for Deliveroo riders. This partnership has been designed with delivery riders front and centre of mind, making access to affordable e-bikes a reality for them. The partnership will offer a sustainable and accessible platform which supports delivery riders whilst also bolstering our vision of a cleaner, greener world for all. We’re delighted to be working with Deliveroo and look forward to helping them achieve their own sustainability goals.”

The link-up boosts HumanForest’s vision to transform the way that people and businesses can access clean, green shared mobility solutions.

A new, innovative payment model has created the most affordable and accessible e-bike solution in the capital for delivery riders and last-mile delivery. Deliveroo riders will have access to the green e-bike platform by purchasing bundles of minutes as and when they need them, for making deliveries or for leisure, tackling the upfront costs of privately purchasing electric bikes.

Throughout lockdown, home delivery services have seen a spike in popularity. It is hoped the partnership will allow more businesses and consumers to make sustainable trips around the capital, offering a truly green mobility solution.

Both ecommerce and shared mobility were two hot-topics coming into 2022 and this alignment marks a new era for the sector – combining the forces of two sectors to promote sustainability in European cities.
