London-based hiring intelligence startup Screenloop picks up €2.2 million

With the goal to bring intelligence, performance and automation to the hiring process, London-based Screenloop has just raised €2.2 million from Europe’s top founders of Blissgrowth, Passion Capital, GTMfund and RLC Ventures.

The round was oversubscribed and included several founders including Jay Radia (Yieldify & Reachdesk), Paul Forster (Indeed), Tom Blomfield (Monzo), James Hind (Carwow), Eamon Jubbawy (Onfido), Anil Stocker (MarketFinance), Doug Monro (Adzuna), Ivan Mazour (Ometria), Nick Telson (Horseplay Ventures) and more.

Founded in 2021 by a team of senior operators (all from unicorn companies), Screenloop was created with the mission to tackle the problem of inefficient, outdated, and unfair hiring processes. The founding team includes João Leal (ex-Revolut AI lead), Rodrigo Santos (ex-Clearscore Data Lead), Nuno Saldanha (ex-Talkdesk Product Lead) and Anton Boner (ex-Stack Overflow Commercial Director).

Global hiring is a challenging problem that is impacting more and more businesses worldwide. There’s been a lot of activity in the talent acquisition and recruitment sphere recently. The fresh funding just announced for Screenloop is another exciting development for this market.

Global recruitment challenges include a lack of available and accessible talent, long and repetitive processes, unconscious bias, and increased competition. Screenloop has been launched with the intent to address and solve these problems.

João Leal, Co-Founder and Head of AI at Screenloop said: “Businesses are struggling to hit their hiring goals and getting the right candidate is more competitive now than possibly ever before. In our analysis often the hiring process for many organisations is inefficient and outdated. During a period of rapid nation-wide recruitment, companies simply cannot afford to waste time and money on hiring the wrong people. Through our intelligent product offering, we can help companies hire the right people quicker.”

There are four key aspects to the young company’s technology that attempt to take on this challenge. First, there is Screenloop source. This solution allows recruiters and hiring teams to discover new channels and networks of the best candidates for each role through existing and future hires.

Next is Screenloop Interview which aims to bring intelligence to interviews to make sure great candidates aren’t missed out on. Recordings, transcriptions, real-time prompts and recommendations help hiring managers interview at a scale and quality that cannot be matched with businesses’ current approach. This step also weeds out unconscious bias and makes for a much fairer process for both sides.

The third solution is Screenloop Reference which automates the reference process to receive real insights on future hires that will improve their onboarding experience and success. The company’s data suggests that this feature will reduce time spent referencing by up to 90%.

Lastly, there is analytics. The technology behind the recruitment tech startup enables users to understand better the key strengths and weaknesses of a candidate throughout the entire hiring process.

Already delivering its solutions to customers in the UK, Europe and the US, the young company will now be able to develop its platform further and expand.
