Vestbee, the biggest online matchmaking platform in Central & Eastern Europe that connects European startups and scaleups with global VC funds, accelerators, business angels and corporates, has just launched the second edition of AWS AI Challenge together with Amazon Web Services – a Strategic Partner of the platform.
This time, the spotlight will be put on innovative fast-growing companies from the whole EMEA region including Europe, Middle East, and Africa. The program aims to support AI startups solving real business problems with the product and business development, FREE AWS Credits (up to $100,000), promotion, access to a wide global network of VC funds and selected AWS clients. Additionally, Amazon Web Services will provide infrastructure and technical support along with invitations to conferences, webinars, and cross-marketing activities. What is more, selected startups will also get the opportunity to pitch their solutions in front of global investors.
Which startups can apply?
AWS AI Challenge is looking for innovative projects with artificial intelligence (e.g. machine learning, deep learning, voice, video and image recognition etc.) which is or will be based on at least one of the Amazon Web Services technologies such as SageMaker, Forecast, Personalize, Textract, Rekognition, ComprehendMedical, Translate, Lex, Polly, Transcribe, Comprehend, ElasticInference, Kendra and CodeGuru.
The challenge is dedicated to both developing and existing AI solutions using Amazon Web Services infrastructure for which AWS provides additional credits, custom technical support and dedicated migration programs.

Most importantly, every AWS AI Challenge participant benefits and can become a Finalist by developing strong artificial intelligence use cases and solving real business problems, as the unique formula of the program aims to support and promote innovative tech startups. What are the evaluation criteria? The projects will be assessed by a board of business and technology specialists according to their innovation, business support, sellability, complexity, worldwide impact and AWS Data Analytics usage. The good news is, that there is no limit for Challenge Finalists. Startups with the highest scores will be singled out in Challenge Top 10 and get the Master title!
