Helsinki-based Silo AI expands to Sweden with plans to build a leading AI lab in Stockholm

Today Silo AI, one of the largest private AI labs in the Nordics, expands its operations to Stockholm with the opening of their sixth office.

Founded in 2017, Silo AI solves the most strenuous challenges in machine learning, computer vision and natural language processing. The company already serves clients across several industries on four continents, and aims to be a trusted partner that brings AI into product development and delivers AI-driven solutions and products. Some examples of Silo AI solutions include a tool for the Finnish airline ‘Finnair’ to improve situational awareness, and a tool for the global leading engineering company Ramboll to improve water quality at water treatment facilities.

Silo AI is now building a leading AI lab in Stockholm, enabling companies to leverage AI expertise that manifests in delivering and shipping AI solutions, for customers such as Allianz, Philips, Huawei, and Ramboll. To match the growing need for AI development with our Nordic customers, the startup is planning to hire 20 new AI scientists and AI engineers in the upcoming six months.

In three years, Silo AI has successfully built a team of close to 100 AI experts and a full development and deployment infrastructure to deliver AI-driven solutions and products. The company aims to continue to grow as the trusted AI advisor also in the Swedish market, bringing machine learning, computer vision and NLP capabilities to product development in a unique way.

Silo AI will continue to work in Sweden with the same customer segments as it has been so far: smart vehicles, smart industry, smart devices, smart health and smart cities. Examples of their ongoing Swedish cases include building a computer vision-powered sewage pipe robot for Linköping-based Tekniska Verken, and an AI-driven lead generation solution for a Stockholm-based leading long-term investment company Infranode.

“For Silo AI, the new office in Stockholm is a natural continuation of the journey that we’ve already started, and that contributes to our mission of becoming the European flagship AI company. In the following months, we’re looking into expanding to other locations too, in which we already have active clients”, commented Peter Sarlin, CEO of Silo AI.

“We’re happy to have built a team with a strong background in improving businesses with AI. Together with the Swedish team, we trust that we can extend our unique offering in Sweden as well”, said Tero Ojanperä, Executive Chairman of Silo AI.

Currently Silo AI operates out of its three Finland-based offices in Helsinki, Turku and Oulu and its two international locations in Palo Alto, US and London, UK. With steady growth, the company doubled its revenue last year, with estimates for 2020 further accelerating its pace and having hired close to 40 new employees this year. The startup will continue to hire both in Finland and in Sweden.
