EU-Startups Summit will be postponed until April 29-30, 2021 – due to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The EU-Startups Team was hopeful until the very last minute and we tried everything we could to hold on to hosting this year’s EU-Startups Summit on May 28-29 as planned. But even the best event team can’t win against the increasing global pandemic of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The new restrictions for large gatherings, drastic travel restrictions, the increasing fear-level and obvious public health concerns, are forcing us to reschedule the event.

Initially we considered to move the event to July, but after talking to our attendees, speakers, exhibitors, partners and health experts, we fear that this would probably still be too early. Also, there are numerous experts expecting a strong 2nd wave of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the fall and winter of this year. That being said, with the wellbeing of our attendees, partners, and staff in mind, we had to make the tough decision to move the event to April 29-30, 2021.

We’re very sorry for everyone who wanted to join us at the event this May, and we can assure you that it’s equally disappointing for our whole team that we won’t be able to hold the event as planned. Also, to be completely transparent with you, since the annual EU-Startups Summit is our biggest revenue source, which will fall completely flat this year, this will force us into immediate survival mode.

But we can assure you that we’ll do what it takes to not only survive, but to come out stronger and to provide you with an even better event experience at the next EU-Startups Summit on April 29-30 in Barcelona. Promised!

If you already bought a conference ticket and can’t make it on April 29-30, feel free to cancel your event ticket via Eventbrite in the coming days. Luckily, most of our speakers, exhibitors, and attendees already signalled that we could count on their participation even if we postpone the EU-Startups Summit. That’s awesome!

We’re looking forward to meeting all of you in April next year for an amazing event, with inspiring speakers, great workshops and awesome networking opportunities with many of Europe’s best startup founders and investors. Until then, stay safe, positive and keep counting on us for news, interviews and in-depth content pieces about the movers and shakers of the European startup ecosystem.
