Swiss startup Smeetz raises €660K to boost its leisure activity booking software

Lausanne-based Smeetz, a booking and marketing software for any activity or event, has raised a pre-series A funding round of approximately €660K, led by the Swiss ICT Investor Club and various business angels. Bringing the total raised by the startup to €1.3 million, the funds will be used to expand its team, grow in the German-Swiss market and develop its software further.

Smeetz, founded in 2017, offers a flexible software that not only facilitates all bookings for an event, but also provides marketing and attendee management features. Smeetz can be used by any kind of activity or event, from festivals to museums, sports classes to yoga retreats, art classes to dance performances, corporate training to conferences. Its software can be easily integrated into any website, in order to help increase revenue through smart pricing, sales predictions and targeted digital marketing campaigns.

In 2020 and beyond, Smeetz is working on an AI-driven smart pricing model, which will offer discounts depending on a number of factors such as demand, weather forecasts, and sales evolution. It will then encourage users to book in advance via these discounts, and help activity organisers better market and monitor sales.

On a wider scale, the startup plans to reach more businesses in the region, such as nightclubs, tourist offices and festivals, as well as further its expansion into the Swiss-German market and the rest of Europe. It also plans to complete a €2.3 million Series A in the first half of 2021.
