Revolut aims to transform business banking with the launch of new accounts

Revolut for Business, the London-based digital banking unicorn, has today launched two business account plans with zero monthly subscription fees, designed to support a new generation of ambitious startups looking to start local and go global, enabling them to quickly expand and operate across different markets.

The new business account plans, available to freelancers and corporates, reaffirm Revolut’s commitment to democratise access to business accounts, to help businesses get off the ground and to save entrepreneurs around the world time and money with a radically better business account.

Revolut for Business is also announcing changes to the pricing structure of the plans, introducing a customisable model that provides even more control and great value pricing regardless of a businesses size. Revolut for Business users will be able to tailor the features of their plan according to their business needs and upgrade or downgrade their plans at any time.

Commenting on the launch of the new plans James Gibson, Product Owner at Revolut for Business said: “We understand first-hand how frustrating it can be for ambitious entrepreneurial businesses to get the support they need to kick off their journey to success. Using our own experience, we’ve developed a brand new free offering which will save our customers time, money and give them the flexibility and control they need to operate both locally and globally. Our businesses are the beating heart of the economy and we’re so excited to be able to do our bit to support them.”

Improvements to the accounts have been designed to meet the demands of today’s entrepreneurs for whom cross-border trade and expansion are critically important. Flexibility and the ability to customise business accounts are vital to allow businesses to navigate their fast changing world and growing global economic uncertainty.

In just two years, Revolut has signed up over 100,000 businesses and rapidly rolled out a feature set which has allowed it to scale rapidly and compete with established high street banks. The current feature set includes the ability to:

  • Create instant multi-currency accounts
  • Issue physical and virtual corporate cards
  • Make and receive transfers in 28 currencies to pay suppliers or employees overseas without being penalised by poor exchange rates
  • Add team members or accountants to their account
  • Set permissions and define payment approval flows
  • Integrate with popular apps such as Slack, Xero, FreeAgent and Zapier
  • Create bulk, scheduled and other complex payments, as well as automate payments through an API
  • Access 24/7 customer support

Revolut for Business is continuing to add further products and services to its offering, including company-wide expense management and a much anticipated end-to-end acquiring solution. Businesses can sign up to the free Revolut for Business account here.
