Berlin-based fresh food logistics startup fliit raises €10 million in Series A funding

Berlin-based fliit is setting out to make food logistics simple with its digital platform, which connects and aggregates transportation partners to manage fresh food logistics throughout Germany, while providing seamless digital documentation to its clients.

The startup has just raised €10 million in a Series A round from Maersk Growth, the capital venture arm of the shipping giant Maersk and Alstin Fund II from the Maschmeyer Group. Existing investors, particularly Berlin Technologie Holding, also participated in the round.

In collaboration with Maersk, fliit is developing end-to-end solutions for global food producers are being developed, with its competencies in road transportation perfectly complementing Maersk’s expertise in sea freight.

Founded in 2016, over the last 12 months, fliit has grown its partner network to more than 200 regular carriers, delivering in every part of Germany and neighboring countries. Clients such as MSG Frucht, L’Osteria, Rewe, Landgard, and Hello Fresh already use the service of fliit outperforming traditional solutions and has the potential to revolutionize food logistics.

The additional funds will be used to accelerate growth and push the development of its digital platform for fresh food transportation, as well as to start the international expansion.
