Parisian comparative on-demand transport app EureCab raises €700k

Parisian startup EureCab is a new player in the on-demand transport market, allowing people to compare the rates of private drivers and taxis. The startup has just raised €700k from business angels and existing investors.

EureCab now counts 50,000 customers and more than 500 active drivers, and is available in cities throughout France including Paris, Lyon, Lille, Nantes, Nice, Bourdeaux, Strasbourg, Toulouse, and Marseille. The startup compares all partner platforms (including Uber, Marcel, SnapCar, LeCab, Felix, and Citybird) as well as taxis so that users can choose the cheapest option. EureCab also offers a loyalty system that allows customers to find their favorite driver directly. Drivers can choose their own fares, routes and schedules.

EureCab launched its website in the summer of 2015, and its mobile app at the end of 2017. The app displays the expected time of arrival of a car from the get go, and also offers users the option to “blacklist” a driver, so the driver will never appear again in their searches. And when customers give drives five-star ratings, they become a “favorite” and will appear at the top of the list in future searches.

The new funding will allow EureCab to accelerate its development, improve its app, form new partnerships, and expand marketing efforts.

“Our model has demonstrated its relevance in advance booking,” said Theodore Monzies, founder of EureCab. “This fundraising should allow us to accelerate our development in the immediate booking segment, expand our portfolio of offers, and offer the best drivers at the best price for all types of trips.”
