InfoJobs and Stack Overflow start an exclusive collaboration in Spain to revolutionise the contracting of professionals in the IT sector

InfoJobs, Spain’s leading recruitment platform, and Stack Overflow, the world’s largest online community of programmers, have signed an exclusive agreement in Spain to enable companies to hire software developers, programmers and engineers.

The technological sector is becoming increasingly more important in Spain and across Europe, as demonstrated by recent InfoJobs data. in 2018 around 350,000 vacancies were posted on the platform seeking professionals to cover jobs in the Computer and Telecommunications sector, 10% up on the previous year. And this demand will continue to grow since, according to a survey carried out by InfoJobs on more than 1,000 companies, 47% of big companies say they expect to hire technological professionals in the next 24 months. But, contrary to the high demand, 62% of these professionals say that they are not actively looking to change jobs, although they are willing to listen to offers. That being said, identifying, enticing and hiring professionals of the technological field is a big challenge for companies.

Dominique Cerri, general manager of InfoJobs, explains that “the value proposal of InfoJobs for companies is effectiveness; that is, that they find the talent required in the shortest possible time. This collaboration agreement with a leader such as Stack Overflow will enable us to be even more effective for those companies searching for profiles in the IT sector”.

Th agreement between InfoJobs and Stack Overflow will be revolutionary both for companies, which will have their job vacancies seen by 1 million professionals from the technological field, and for professionals, who will receive these job vacancies in their habitual setting without needing to go looking for them.

Dominique Cerri commented: “The main benefit of this agreement, and one which contributes to a paradigm shift in the hiring of IT professionals for our companies, is that Stack Overflow is aligned with our ambition for it to be the offers that find the candidate, and not for the candidate to need to seek them. In this regard, Stack Overflow only shows job offers to users that fulfil the requested profile”.

Sean Bave, General Manager of Stack Overflow Talent and Advertising stated: “Stack Overflow is excited to partner with InfoJobs in order to bring more career opportunities to developers in Spain. Our platform’s focus on developers allows us to match them with open jobs that require the skills they have. Stack Overflow is excited to find new opportunities for Spanish developers as we have done in North America and other parts of Europe.”

Offers that meet the requirements of Stack Overflow will be automatically posted on the platform. Companies that want to have their job vacancies on Stack Overflow automatically must, on the one hand, have them posted on InfoJobs and, on the other hand, meet the quality requirements established by Stack Overflow.

The main quality requirement is that job offers must seek professionals, whose main task is to find a solution to a technical problem through software development. Therefore, for the most part, they will be jobs for software developers, programmers and engineers and, in addition, vacancies for other positions that require knowledge of programming may also be posted, such as, for example, data analysts, data scientists, software testers, designers or product managers, among others.
