On May 2-3, we’re going to host the EU-Startups Summit in Barcelona. It will be the 6th edition of our annual flagship event – and with up to 1,200 startup founders and investors from across Europe also our biggest one so far!
Today we’re excited to announce our 2nd speaker for next year’s event. It is TravelPerk founder and CEO Avi Meir!
Founded in 2015, TravelPerk is the world’s first and only all-in-one platform for booking business travel that is 100% free. Today, the Barcelona-based startup is one of the fastest growing ‘Software as a Service’ companies in Europe. TravelPerk has the world’s largest inventory, best-of-breed technology, consumer-grade design and a very disruptive business model that is free to the user.
The fast-growing startup already employs a team of more than 150 people and was able to raise a total of about €65 million till date. Most recently, in October of this year, Avi and his team secured about €38 million in Series C funding from some of the world’s most successful tech investors including Kinnevik, Yuri Milner and Tom Stafford. The list of previous investors includes Felix Capital, Target Global, Spark Capital, LocalGlobe and Suntone.
The Spanish startup set out to transform the €1.1 trillion business travel market. Having tripled the size of its team in the past year, TravelPerk is opening a new office in the UK, and is soon also to build bases in Berlin, Amsterdam and Paris.
Before founding TravelPerk, Avi Meir co-founded HotelNinjas, which was eventually acquired by Booking.com. At the EU-Startups Summit, Avi will talk about his learnings while starting and scaling TravelPerk, and about his future plans for the platform.
