Munich-based WhatsBroadcast secures highest European Series A funding for messenger marketing services

WhatsBroadcast, Europe’s pioneering messenger services provider for enterprises, today announced its Series A funding. The Munich-based startup received €5 million, currently the highest European Series A investment for messenger services and chatbots. Investors include Hightech Gründerfonds, Müller Medien as well as media + more ventures, Wessel Management, and other parties.

WhatsBroadcast’s core competency is around messenger marketing, which has become increasingly popular due to the availability of interactive chatbots. These days, billions of people communicate through WhatsApp, WeChat and Facebook Messenger. These popular interaction platforms give companies a direct customer contact. WhatsBroadcast provides the required infrastructure as well as the appropriate tools, to facilitate direct communication efficiently, scalable, fast, and compliant with all privacy regulations.

Founded in 2015, WhatsBroadcast now supports over 800 companies – many in the German speaking countries, but also with a growing number of international clients. WhatsBroadcast’s customers use the service in a SaaS (Software as a Service) license model and are provided with a convenient browser interface to control their messenger marketing, customer support and interactive chatbots.

Franz Buchenberger, CEO of WhatsBroadcast, stated: “Messengers are the fastest growing digital platforms and started to replace websites, email newsletters and social media in the daily communication between companies and their target audiences. With our new investment we aim to strengthen our excellent market position and intend to quickly grow our international business, especially around chatbots.”
