Madrid Startup House aims to give Madrid the final push it needs to become an international hotspot for startups

Madrid Startup House is a new startup platform which aims to make Madrid an internationally recognised startup hub. Launched on the 21st of November, the website was initiated by the WELCOME project under the umbrella of the European Commission’s Startup Europe initiative.

The goal of Madrid Startup House is to act as one single point to connect all players in the Madrid startup ecosystem and strengthen the entrepreneur movement in the city. Kind of a one stop shop for startups in Madrid. Other websites like this are foreseen to be created in other cities across Europe, such as Venice (Italy).

According to our research this summer, Madrid currently ranks as number 6 of Europe’s biggest startup hubs – which is already quite impressive. The city which is buzzing with entrepreneurship activities, both private and public, could further benefit from a single platform like Madrid Startup House, which unifies all activities and players, strengthen the startup scene and gives the capital’s startup community more visibility on an international level.

In order to unleash the full potential, Madrid Startup House is currently looking for a collaboration with players of the local startup scene to put all the relevant information in one place and create a connected, consolidated community. There are many ways to take part in the platform, depending on the ideas and needs of each and every member of Madrid’s startup community.

Right now, Madrid Startup House is looking for collaborators like:

  • Female entrepreneurs to tell their stories, give their projects visibility in the Madrid Startup House blog and overall inspire the next female entrepreneurs of Madrid
  • Incubators, accelerators, co-working spaces and universities that wish to appear in the Ecosystem Builders directory, which will give their projects more visibility to the startup community
  • Mentors that wish to enrich their professional lives by mentoring startups

In addition to collaborators, the Madrid Startup House is also looking for sponsors that wish to participate in the project by sponsoring activities and services, such as events, mentoring, networking activities and more.
