Our plans for 2017:

2016 was a turbulent year, but I mostly enjoyed it, since it was also the first year I worked full-time for Menlo Media (the company I established to run EU-Startups.com as a business). After starting EU-Startups.com as a hobby project by the end of 2010, the site and related projects finally became my main venture/job. And despite the Brexit decision, the EU crisis and other negative signs, I’m still bullish on the future of a (more) united Europe, on our young generation and on European startups in particular.

That being said, I’m planning to double down on EU-Startups once again in 2017! In order to do so, I’m currently in the process of selling my other side project Agenturjobs.de, a specialized job board for PR, Internet, and Ad Agencies in Germany. Over the last two years, I was able to grow it to become one of the leading job boards in this field. The acquisition will be completed in the beginning of 2017 and will provide Menlo Media with some additional funds, which I plan to reinvest into the future of EU-Startups.com.

As quietly announced within our newsletter, we’ll start the new year with a relaunch of the site. EU-Startups urgently needed a WordPress update, but more importantly a mobile friendly web design. Therefore I hired a talented Web Developer from Poland, who is currently working on the relaunch. The year 2017 will start fresh and clean!

2017 will be a big year for EU-Startups. We’ll increase the quality and quatity of our editorial output, host the 4th and so far largest edition of our EU-Startups Conference and publish 3-4 premium reports. The first one will be an update of our research on startup accelerators in Europe, which we’ll probably publish by the end of January.

If you want to have some additional behind-the-scenes info on what we’re planning with EU-Startups, make sure to subscribe to our newsletter (sign up form in the sidebar). It gets published about every 10 days and contains exclusive background info, discounts and more. The next edition of our newsletter will be sent in the first week of 2017.

In the meantime, we wish all our readers, partners and contributors a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Slow down a bit and enjoy your holidays. 🙂
