The Amsterdam-based startup Tiqets offers travelers mobile tickets to attractions, museums and entertainment. Today, the young company announced the closing of $4 million Series A financing round led by Capital Mills. This investment gives Tiqets the resources to go global. Tiqets plans to add 14 new cities before the coming summer.
Tiqets, which started in December of 2013, is committed to building technology that makes it easier to explore, book and enjoy culture and entertainment. Providing travelers with mobile tickets and hassle-free access to top venues in cities around the world.
In 204, Tiqets raised $450K in seed funding. Last year, they secured $ 1 million.
According to the Dutch company, Tiqets grew more than 3,500% in 2015, operating in European hotspots like Barcelona, Paris, Rome, London and Amsterdam. These results seems to be confirming that easy-to-use mobile ticketing meets a real demand for both travelers and venues.
CEO Luuc Elzinga explains: “It’s our mission to make culture more accessible. We’re here to help travelers get into the places they want to visit. So we’ll keep on adding new cities and new venues, improving our technology, and creating unique content.”
Later this month Tiqets is moving into New York and Prague. Other cities, including Dubai, Berlin and Copenhagen, will be added before the summer holidays.
