Bonnyprints (Wunderkarten.de) has just been acquired by Planet Cards SAS, the French market leader for personalized wedding, birthday and special occasioncards. Planet Cards will integrate Bonnyprints, and their shop Wunderkarten.de, into their product portfolio. This deal combines two webtoprint providers for personalized cards & photopresents under one roof.
The financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. Both, Planetcards.de and wunderkarten.de remain independent brands. All 22 employees will keep their job.
Founded in 2009, Bonnyprints and its web shop Wunderkarten.de have the biggest online presence for personalized cards in Germany. The Berlin-based company was also backed by Rocket Internet, which was the majority sharholder of Bonnyprints before this acquisition. Bonnyprints is also active in Austria, Switzerland, Great Britain and France.
The merger of Bonnyprints and Planet Cards makes them the German market leader in the
sector personalized special occasioncards. Since the acquisition of clicpostal.com in 2012,
Planet Cards is French market leader in this sector.
Bonnyprints and Planet Cards together offer, with nearly 9000 personalized designs, the
biggest product range in the Germanspeaking area: around 4,600 designs by Bonnyprints and around 4,000 by Planet Card. The companies want to combine their production and
ITinfrastructure, for a more effective and economical workflow and to widen their product
range continuously.
