Quicket acquires BookitNow! to strengthen its travel app offering

Quicket, the all-in-one travel booking app developer, has acquired the technology assets from the Berlin-based hotel booking engine BookitNow!

This acquisition (financial details were not disclosed) will enable Quicket’s users to save money on hotel bookings by using a search engine to locate hotels in and around major airports. The new booking engine will highlight competitive rates for travellers seeking accommodation during disruptive situations such as during flight cancellations or long delays.

The Quicket app is available for iOS, Android, Windows, BlackBerry as well as smart watches such as WatchOS2.

Founded in 2014, Quicket has so far received €1 million funding to develop its travel itinerary app. This month, Quicket moved its Munich-based operations to Berlin to build business links in the German capital as well as to have access to a bigger pool of talent in mobile user acquisition and data analysis in the booming Berlin tech startup scene.

Anas Salem, ex-CEO from BookitNow!, said: “Today’s acquisition is a great next step for Quicket to tap into the mobile hotel booking market. I am confident that Quicket’s new technology offering will ensure company growth in the future, as their users benefit from an improved booking service.”
