German app marketing platform AppLift acquires Singapore-based Bidstalk

Applift, the app marketing platform which is part of the Berlin-based Hitfox Group, today announced the acquisition of Bidstalk, a self-service, white label mobile DSP headquartered in Singapore (Update – July 2023: The startup seems to be no longer in business under this website, and we therefore deactivated the original link).

Bidstalk’s proprietary programmatic offering enables marketers to buy RTB (Real Time Bidding) traded mobile inventory on a self-serve basis. With the acquisition of Bidstalk, AppLift makes a further move to become the global leader for performance-based app marketing. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Through the acquisition, AppLift’s clients immediately benefit from Bidstalk’s technology infrastructure, which is now integrated into its mobile user acquisition platform DataLift. DataLift claims to be the first performance-focused app marketing platform maximising Lifetime Value (LTV) across all app verticals. Bidstalk will provide AppLift’s clients extended programmatic in-house and self-service benefits by combining Bidstalk’s real-time bidding capabilities with the DataLift data-management and optimisation layer. This will enhance AppLift’s overall offering for a wide array of app advertisers seeking large-scale performance for user acquisition and re-engagement on a global level. With the acquisition of Bidstalk, AppLift grants advertisers access to more than 50 programmatic mobile display, video, and native SSPs, exchanges, and further supply sources, all integrated into the platform on a global level.

Tim Koschella, the CEO and Co-founder of Applift, stated: “We looked for a company whose RTB capacities could best complement and empower our performance-focused demand stack. Bidstalk’s technology is in a league of their own, with an efficiency and a scalability far above all other companies we have looked at in that space,” said Tim Koschella, CEO and Co-founder of AppLift.

Bidstalk was founded in 2014 and has an experienced team of ad tech professionals, including 40 RTB engineers and data scientists, taking AppLift’s team up to a total of 200 specialists. This acquisition follows the announcement of AppLift’s recent expansion into the Asia Pacific region with three new offices in Beijing, Tokyo, and Delhi respectively. The company also increased its revenue two-fold year-over-year globally.

Together with the Bidstalk’s headquarters in Singapore, AppLift now counts eight global offices, of which six are in Asia. Bidstalk’s presence in Bangalore also adds a second Engineering hub to AppLift, thereby strengthening its technological capacities. Bidstalk’s enterprise-level white label DSP, which offers marketers and agencies access to RTB-traded inventory, will remain under the Bidstalk brand and will continue to be managed by the Bidstalk team.
